Spring Shed

Hey all! Bittsy here, Heather and I wanted to tell you more about the new product that just went live. Spring has come and gone which means that the Shedding season for young Fae has occurred. As I hinted at before I have been working on contracts with beings in the Fae world on allowing Heather and I permission to bring pieces of magic into the Human World to share with you all. I started small with Faery Wings (Yes I know in posts and the product Heather spells it Fairy but it really is Faery I can give you more information on the difference later but…) since they are fairly easy to obtain, are pretty to look at and would not be controversial.

In a previous post I mentioned to you that the Faery wings are easy to obtain, and you shouldn’t be concerned that we went around the Fae Realm hacking off some poor Fae’s Wings like lunatics. (Sorry morbid joke and unfortunately is something that Fae are scared of so kinda not funny, my bad.) But any way, these wings we don’t get that way. Wings naturally fall off as a Fae grows and when they reach the end of maturity they get their adult wings. There are three sizes of wings: Child, Adolescent and Adult. But only the two sizes are shed and the Fae goes through several shedding’s in those two sizes before they get their adult wings. The main Shedding cycle occurs in Spring for most Fae. However, for Dark Fae, as I learned, it occurs in the Fall. So we will be able to provide wings from both Magical Kingdoms of the Fae Realm.

As Heather mentioned in the last post, we have been away because she needed a way to clear her mind and become inspired. (I actually think its more along the lines of the Seasonal Depression stuff that you humans talk about. Winter is not great on the psychy, heck thats probably why the Fae of the Winter Court are grumpy all the time because they never get an escape in the kingdom unless they get special permission to travel.) Any way that goes into political stuff and thats really not what we are here for…kind of. I say that because how we got permission for the things that are to come had to be processed politically, so it kinda was political, but not in the true sense. More like a visiting artist asking permission to borrow inspiration and what not from a culture that they are not apart of and thus gets the permission from the chief or president of that culture. (Wow, derailed, get this train back on the tracks.) Sorry, as I was saying we got permission from the Four Fae Rulers to visit every now and then for Heather to get inspiration and that there will be a courier service that will bring us items to be put in the store. The Fae Wings are just the beginning, and I will mention more on the courier service itself later but we are here for the wings.

So the wings we were able to get permission for, before we even returned, were the wings of the Sun Fae. They were more then happy to provide us with the Shedding’s of their little ones and we received them right after the Spring Shed. We have gotten permission from four other Fae Clans whose shedding’s we should be receiving sporadically. I say that because two of the clans who surprisingly gave their permission are from the Dark Fae Kingdom and as I mentioned their wings are shed in the Fall, so we won’t be getting theirs until later. But right now we have contracts with the Sun Fae, Flora Fae, and Aqua Fae from the the Light Fae Kingdom and the Night Fae and Ember Fae from the Dark Fae Kingdom. More are in the process but some Fae Clans are a little bit more skeptical about sharing bits of their world with the Humans so they are probably waiting to see how this goes for the first five before proceeding with a contract with us.

And with that in mind, yes, as a good Business Fae I did not go into this with the mindset of taking from the Fae world and not compensating those that believe in us. I drew up a contract that each Fae family that provides us with Wing Sheds will get 15% of the sale, to be delivered to them in payment of their choosing. Which as I am sure you know, Fae really don’t need Human Money so that mostly will be payment in flower seeds, Human Produce, Human Innovations, Buttons, things that Fae like for our own little reasons. (The Buttons are my thing, I collect Buttons, and Heather Pays me in Buttons. And Food, she makes me sweets and I do like my sweets. Though the Night Fae did surprisingly ask for thier’s in Human Money. I’ll have to look into why and get back to you.) Any way, the Sun Fae Adolescent Wings are available now in the store. The Children’s Wings will be available soon along with Charms of both types rather then bottles. Heather also has some ideas of incorporating the Wings into some other products she has in the works so keep an eye out for each of those drops.

Though there is this thing about Fae not being able to be captured by camera, something about how it was designed or some such. There was a spell, and the inventor didn’t realize that using Fae magic to make something came with a price and so hey now cameras can’t capture certain things that you get a camera for in the first place.
